Circles of women are nothing new; this tradition has been passed down by our ancestors. Throughout history, women have gathered in sacred circles to support each other. Be it around a fire in prehistoric times, within hushed monasteries of the middle ages, rising feminist groups of the 1970’s or even today in the major woman’s rights marches we have seen. Throughout, women have felt drawn together to laugh, share, heal, care for children, grieve and spiritually connect.
Within the structure of the circle, there is no hierarchy; each woman’s voice is equally important, her story honored and received fully. In this sacred space, a collective power is harnessed. I feel so blessed to be able to offer woman’s circles to my community hoping the concept will spread and spread. I have found the understanding that none of us hold all the answers, but together we can share our light and find our way. Some even suggest that with each new circle, we move towards a critical mass where a paradigm shift will occur, rippling out through our wider culture. So I like to think that each circle has the power to transform the world- woman-by-woman, circle-by-circle. By finding our voices, claiming our feminine power and celebrating our self worth, we become the change we want to see in our world.

Each month alongside the moon cycles I host woman’s circles where we share, meditate, reflect, practice womb yoga, heal and deeply relax. This style of yoga was developed to specifically work with our internal cycles both monthly or throughout different life events such as pregnancy, pre/post menopause, menstruation or even just ageing. Womb yoga is an evolving therapeutic approach to yoga specifically designed to support woman’s health and healing. This practice honors are life cycles, hormonal changes and gives us truly sustainable energy for our busy lifestyles, which often other styles of yoga cannot offer. It allows us to recognize when you need time out in your life to just nurture and nourish. I learned this beautiful approach by my teacher, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli (many blessings to you).
My women’s circles both cultivate general well-being and empowerment and heal any specific issues that any of us may bring along. They promote energetic and hormonal balance and cultivate an optimum flow of blood and energy to our womb, ovaries and other organs nested in our pelvis. I highly recommend these sessions if you are looking for support with menstrual, fertility, menopausal, pregnancy or with any chronic physical or emotional problems. However, all women welcome to explore, nourish and preserve their feminine essence and power. We also open our classes to mums to bring along babies and children as we understand its hard to always get childcare or find events open to you.
